My garage door is dented. Do I need to replace the entire door?
No. You can replace the individual panel, and panels can generally be sourced for about eight years from manufacture depending on availability. The door sags in the middle. Is that the same problem?
It is related. A sagging section usually means the panel has lost rigidity, and support struts are part of the fix. It is worth having looked at before the opener starts straining against it.
What causes panels to bend in the first place?
Impact is the obvious one, but a slower cause is worn plastic rollers. As they degrade the opener pulls harder against a door that is not moving freely, and the panels take the strain.
